“It just came to our attention then. If the test is confirmed, we will condemn in the strongest terms the launch of an S-400 missile, an action incompatible with Turkey’s responsibilities as a member of NATO and a strategic partner of the United States.” Morgan Ortagus, a spokesman for the State Department, said, according to Mediafax.

The rocket launch took place near the Turkish city of Sinop, located on the Black Sea coast. The Turkish Defense Ministry has announced that it will neither confirm nor deny the tests with the S-400 anti-aircraft system.
Turkey has acquired a Russian anti-ballistic and anti-aircraft system S-400, but the case has caused a crisis between Turkey and the United States, allies of NATO. The United States has warned that S-400 systems are not compatible with NATO equipment, raising fears that secret technical data on US military F-35 jets could be exposed. In this context, the Washington Administration suspended Ankara’s participation in the F-35 invisible radar aircraft program.
