Professor Mircea Coșea emphasizes that we are in a period of crisis that will be felt especially in certain categories, and the role of the Government will be to balance the accentuated situation of the pandemic.
“It’s a crisis for sure”
“It is very clear that there will be a crisis, the crisis has actually started; In my opinion, since mid-2018, early 2019, it was covered in an artisanal way, but it existed. Now we have coronavirus, it is a crisis for sure, ”said Professor Mircea Coșea, on Antena 3.
“It will be difficult”
The economist continued: “Let us not expect an extraordinarily visible immediate improvement with very large influences on certain categories of the population. It will be difficult.”
“And we have to judge this difficulty in a balanced way. Everyone is in a difficult situation and there are certain things that we have to reassess. For example, we are talking about ratings. I think the rating problem is a bit exaggerated. The way that the rating is applied and it is no longer updated to the way the economy works. (…) It will come, whether we like it or not, how we feel is important ”, considers Mircea Coșea.
What is the danger for Romania?
“From my point of view, the important danger for Romania is the trade deficit, because it cannot be regulated with monetarist or credit methods, it is a structural deficit. We, as a country, have an economic structure at the level of 1940-1950-1970 at the most. We produce, but we do not research, we do not develop, we do not process raw materials in the country. It is the definition of colonialism. (…) In terms of the European macroeconomic context, we are an underdeveloped country, “said the professor.
