They came, stayed in luxury apartments, had fun, and left without paying. A group of tourists from Maramureș left substantial damage to a 4-star hotel in Băile Felix. Surveillance cameras surprised tourists when they sneaked out of the hotel, in order to get rid of the 12 thousand lei payment note. The police opened an investigation in this case and began to follow the partygoers.
It all started when the four families from Maramureș stayed for two days at the four-star hotel in Băile Felix. At night they gave a party, because it was the day of one of them, an event that ended at 6:00 in the morning, in the hotel pool.
“During Saturday, they spent and placed orders in the restaurant and the bar in a substantial amount. Normally, they had to leave on Sunday at noon, when they went to the reception and asked that the rooms be extended until the next day, with the argument that they were hanged and couldn’t get out, which was true, ”said Dumitru Fechete, director of the hotel complex.
One of the tourists asked for an invoice to be made to the company, which he promised to pay the next day with a payment order. However, on Sunday night, after 10 p.m., the four families left the hotel, at the service door.
The damage recorded by the hotelier is 12,000 lei.
“Civil money can be recovered, we will also file a criminal complaint. From what we learned about them, they are not in the best relationship with the law, ”said Dumitru Fechete, director of the hotel complex.
They plugged the pool drain with bathrobes and towels.
In addition to not paying the bill for accommodation and consumption in the restaurant, tourists also caused significant damage. Dissatisfied that hotel employees asked them to leave the pool so they could empty and clean it, they filled the pool drain with bathrobes and towels. The sewer was clogged and the plumbers needed to intervene so that the pool could be used again.
Hotel representatives were no longer able to contact the four Maramureș families, who are now trying to get their money back in a civilized way.
“During this morning, a criminal complaint was filed with the Police of the Băile Felix complex against four families from Maramureș County for committing crimes of breach of trust and destruction,” confirmed Ioana Lascău, spokesperson for IPJ Bacău.
