Last minute decision of the representatives of the National Road Infrastructure Management Company (CNAIR). Starting Tuesday, October 20, Transalpina and Transfăgărășan will be closed in the mountain sectors. This decision was issued in accordance with Regulation AND 615-2020 on road traffic on mountain roads.
Thus, as of Tuesday, October 20, in DN7C (Transfăgărășan) and DN67C (Transalpina), road traffic will be closed for all categories of vehicles in certain sectors:
– DN 7C between km 104 + 000 (Piscu Negru) and km 130 + 800 (Cabana Bâlea Cascada);
– DN 67C – between km 34 + 800 (Rânca) and km 79 + 200 (Curpat).
Unpredictable weather events follow that can occur at any time in these areas.
As announced by CNAIR officials, the measure was taken for the safety of the drivers. “We specify that the measure to close road traffic in these sections was taken for the safety of passersby, given the unpredictable weather that can occur at any time in these areas,” reads the announcement of the National Infrastructure Management Company Vial. , in a statement issued Friday.
