A new registry of infections and patients admitted to ATI

A troubling new record for coronavirus infections. In the last 24 hours, 4,026 new cases of COVID-19 were registered out of the 30,325 tests carried out. Another 75 Romanians died due to the new coronavirus, while 726 patients are hospitalized in Intensive Care, a new record.

To date, on October 16, in Romania, 172,516 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID – 19) have been confirmed.

127,076 patients were declared cured.

Following tests conducted at the national level, compared to the last report, 4,026 new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (COVID – 19) were registered, cases that had not previously had a positive test.

In contrast to newly confirmed cases, after retesting patients who were already positive, 742 people were positively reconfirmed.

To date, 5,749 people diagnosed with COVID-19 infection have died.

Between 15.10.2020 (10:00) – 16.10.2020 (10:00) 75 deaths were reported (43 men and 32 women), of some patients infected by the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Alba, Arad, Argeș, Bacău, Bistrița-Năsăud, Botoșani, Brăila, Brașov, Călărași, Caraș-Severin, Cluj, Covasna, Dâmbovița, Giurgiu, Gorj, Harghita, Hunedoara, Iași, Maramureș, Mehedinți, Telecea, Pramanhova, S, Vasrest and Bucharest, S.

Of these, 3 deaths were recorded in the age group 20 to 29 years, 3 deaths in the age category 40 to 49 years, 8 deaths in the age category 50 to 59 years, 20 deaths in the age category of age 60 to 69 years, 22 deaths in the age group 70 to 79 years and 19 deaths in the category of over 80 years.

All deaths were in patients with comorbidities.

In specialized health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 9,838. Of these, 726 are hospitalized in ATI.

To date, 2,800,912 tests have been processed nationwide. Of these, 30,325 were performed in the last 24 hours, 18,337 based on the definition of the case and medical protocol, and 11,988 upon request.

Likewise, since the last information made by GCS, the results of 106 tests processed before the last 24 hours and delivered until October 16 have been reported.

In Romania, 17,874 people confirmed with the new coronavirus infection are isolated in their homes and 9,155 people are institutionally isolated. Additionally, 42079 people are in home quarantine and 45 people are in institutionalized quarantine.

In the last 24 hours, 2,235 calls were registered to the single emergency number 112 and 1,182 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), opened especially to inform citizens.

As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law No. 55/2020 on some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and the gendarmerie applied, in the last 24 hours, 5,995 penalties for minor infractions, worth 906,255 lei.

Also, through the competent structures of the Police, yesterday 6 crimes were found to frustrate the fight against diseases, a fact foreseen and sanctioned by art. 352 Penal Code.

We remind the public that the Ministry of the Interior has put into operation, as of 04/07/2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where infractions to sanitary protection regulations can be notified.

The calls are answered by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures for the verification of the notified issues.

Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other states, it was confirmed that 6,828 Romanian citizens were infected by COVID-19 (coronavirus): 1,917 in Italy, 1,253 in Spain, 124 in France, 3,013 in Germany, 159 in Great Britain, 36 in Hungary, 28 in the Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 4 in the US, 122 in Austria, 22 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 8 in Switzerland, 3 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus , 93 in Greece, 9 in Cyprus, 2 in India, 2 in Ukraine, 7 in the United Arab Emirates and one in Argentina, Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg, Malta, Brazil, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Sweden, Republic of the Congo, Qatar and the Vatican.

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic and so far, 126 Romanian citizens abroad, 31 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 11 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the United States, one in Brazil, one in the Republic of the Congo and one in Greece, they have died.

Of the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus, 797 were declared cured: 677 in Germany, 90 in Greece, 18 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.
