President Klaus Iohannis and the PNL will do everything possible to paralyze the law that would allow the PSD to postpone parliamentary elections, the leader of the Liberal Senators, Daniel Fenechiu, told RFI, according to Mediafax.
Daniel Fenechiu assures that the parliamentary elections will take place in December: “I don’t know who marked the figure of four thousand, because as far as I know, Mr. Ciolacu is not a Nobel Prize-winning epidemiologist, to determine the threshold from which he passes or No something. On the other hand, nobody can guarantee that in February or March the epidemiological situation will be better than the current one.
The PNL senator presents the steps to follow: “At this moment we have a law that has been challenged in the RCC and the appeal has been rejected. According to the constitutional text, the president has ten days, calculated from 14, in which he can enact it or return it to Parliament, by means of a request for re-examination. If we corroborate the statements in which the president says that the elections must take place on December 6, that Romania needs stability, with the concrete situation, personally, I have no doubt that the president will return the law to Parliament. I suspect this will happen somewhere on the 23rd, and I don’t think the president is in a rush either. The law will go to Parliament on October 23. I think that no matter how much the PSD-ALDE rushes, in six or seven days they will not be able to pass through both Houses, perhaps it will take even longer. After this passage through the Chambers, the request for reconsideration rejected, as an advance that must happen, in relation to the anger with which the PSD clings to the idea of postponing the elections, would return to the president, when it can be generated again. an incident, that is, a new attack on the ITC, strictly on the issues contained in the request for reconsideration, which would mean between one month and six weeks. Six weeks means more than 6. One month means just before 6 (…). The law is not yet in force and there are still resources by which this law can be paralyzed, so that it does not take effect until the date of the elections ”.
The head of the PSD, Marcel Ciolacu, declared that at 4,000 four thousand infections a day, no elections are required.
