Monster scandal in Oradea following the launch of an extensive epidemiological investigation, where more than 350 guests attended the wedding of the son of a police chief.

After the bride was confirmed to test positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday, the Bihor Public Health Directorate announced that the 356 guests must remain in quarantine for a period of 14 days.

In addition, the police and prosecutors opened a criminal case, in rem, for frustrating the fight against the disease.

Judicial sources revealed, exclusively for evz.ro, that during this investigation four raids were carried out on Thursday.

The policemen went down to the restaurant where the wedding took place, the father-in-law, the former chief of the Bihor Police, Eugen Boc, the bride and groom and the mothers-in-law.

Law enforcement officials explained, exclusively to evz.ro, that they are looking for evidence, such as images, supporting documents to attach to the criminal record prepared to thwart the fight against diseases.

Dozens of policemen and prosecutors, among the couple

The famous wedding that scandalized public opinion took place at the end of last week.

The groom is the son of former Bihor police deputy Eugen Boc.

The girlfriend is a pharmacist at the Gavril Curteanu Municipal Hospital in Oradea.

The two newlyweds reportedly tested COVID-19 on Monday because they were going on their honeymoon.

On Tuesday the bride was positively confirmed, but not the groom.

The godfather of the two is a non-commissioned officer from the Rapid Intervention Detachment, and the couple included other policemen, as well as prosecutors from Bihor.

Quarantined for a period of 14 days

In the event, the measures to combat infectious diseases were not fulfilled, according to the authorities.

The event was stopped by the police and representatives of DSP.

On Tuesday, after the girlfriend was confirmed positive, an epidemiological investigation was launched. The young wife declared only a direct contact, about her new husband, Eugen Boc jr.

Later, however, the doctor who conducted the investigation was warned by colleagues that the young woman was married only two days earlier, so the epidemiological investigation was resumed on Wednesday.

Thus, the bride was forced to present the complete list of the 356 people who participated in the event.

According to the procedure, all people will receive at their home the decision by which they are obliged to enter quarantine for a period of 14 days. On the 8th day they have the opportunity to take the test and, if the result is negative, from the 9th they will be able to come out of quarantine, ”Daniela Rahotă, head of the Bihor Public Health Directorate, explained to Bihoreanul.

Guests from two counties

People from Bihor and Maramureş attended the wedding at the Opera Events Hall in Oradea.

“DSP Maramureş will receive the list of persons from the respective county and will deal with the transmission of decisions,” Rahotă added.

The condition of the young woman, say medical sources, is good. She was evaluated by the Municipal Hospital doctors and is currently in quarantine at her home.

After disrupting the wedding, the law enforcement officers were notified ex officio and a criminal case was opened and the event hall manager was fined 15,000 lei.

In fact, prosecutors in Bihor announced that they have opened a criminal case, in rem, for committing the crime of thwarting the fight against disease, after a wedding was organized in Oradea late last week in which more than 350 people attended.
