In terms of deaths, 43 people died from coronavirus in Italy on Wednesday.

In total, the country has 36,289 deaths and 372,799 infections.

Italy was the hardest hit by the coronavirus at the beginning of the pandemic, in its first wave. Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte announced additional restrictions on Tuesday and the state of emergency was extended again until January 31.
