Nicusor Dan broke out: Unfortunately, assuming my term will be delayed for 7-10 days, which is not a good thing from the perspective of the medical crisis we are in.

The elected mayor of the capital, Nicuşor Dan, announces that the inauguration of the mandate will be delayed between 7 and 10 days, since the mayor and the general councilors must take the oath together. Although his mandate was validated by the Bucharest Court, the same court decided that the validation of the counselors is within the jurisdiction of the District 1 Court, and the file was sent to the respective court, announces news.ro.

“Unfortunately, the taking of my mandate will be delayed between 7 and 10 days, which is not good from the perspective of the medical crisis we are in. Here is the explanation: The Administrative Code says that the Mayor General assumes his mandate (takes oath) together with the General Council. Both the mayor and the council must be previously validated by the court, “wrote Nicuşor Dan on Facebook on Wednesday night.

According to him, “the Administrative Code has an unclear wording on the competent court of Bucharest: the mayor and the council are validated by the court in which the electoral district in which the elections were held is located”.

“The Bucharest Court validated my mandate a few days ago, recognizing that since no district court covers the Bucharest constituency, the Bucharest Court is competent. Today, however, through another panel, the Bucharest Court sent the file for the validation of the general counsel to the District Court 1. After the motivation (in 1-2 days), the file will reach the District Court 1. The Court will probably send it to the Court There will be a conflict of jurisdiction and the case will go to the Court of Appeal, which will forward it to the Court, ”Nicuşor Dan also wrote.

He said that even after the case reaches Court, it will take two more days for a possible appeal. Nicusor Dan’s mandate as Mayor General of the Capital was validated, on Monday, by the Bucharest Court.
