Nicușor Dan: Unfortunately, assuming my mandate will be delayed 7-10 days – Essential

The elected mayor of the Capital, Nicuşor Dan, announces that the inauguration of his mandate will be delayed between 7 and 10 days, because, according to the Administrative Code, the mayor must assume the mandate together with the General Council, but has not been validated by the court.

“The administrative code says that the mayor general takes his mandate (takes oath) together with the General Council. Both the mayor and the council must be previously validated by the court. The administrative code has an unclear wording in the competent court of Bucharest: the mayor and the council are validated by the court in which the electoral district in which the elections were held is located ”, Dan explained on his page of Facebook.

Although, he writes, his mandate was validated a few days ago, today, through another panel, the Bucharest Court sent the general counsel’s validation file to the 1st District Court.

“After motivation (in 1-2 days), the case will go to District 1 Court. The Court will probably send it to the Court. There will be a conflict of jurisdiction and the case will go to the Court of Appeals, which will refer it to the Court. After that, we will wait two more days for a possible call, “wrote Nicusor Dan, Wednesday night, on his Facebook page.
