Yahoo Groups’ electronic messaging system will be shut down in mid-December, 20 years after its launch, Yahoo!

It was launched to connect people around common interests. “We have helped our users navigate new cities, stay in touch with friends and colleagues, gain new knowledge, and most importantly, develop connections they may or may not have lost.” the message sent by the company, reports News.ro.
“We have decided to close Yahoo Groups on December 15, 2020. Yahoo Groups has seen a steady decline in usage over the past few years. (…) Thank you for helping us build one of the first digital communities.”
As of December 15, 2020, the Yahoo Groups site will be closed and members of the platform will no longer be able to receive or send emails from Yahoo Groups.
The company has also developed a page where users can find more information.
