Stuttering in STB. After announcing on Tuesday morning that line 41 will be suspended between October 14 and 18, the public transport company said after just two hours that it was postponing the suspension, due to weather conditions. The measure is necessary for allow METROREX to carry out some works in the pedestrian crossing of the “Drumul Taberei Park” subway station, located on Highway 5.
Update 11:00. The Bucharest Transport Company announced that it will postpone the suspension of tram line 41, initially scheduled to start on Wednesday, due to unfavorable weather conditions, STB representatives told Agerpres. The company will return later with a press release.
Initial novelty:
To ensure transportation capacity, STB SA will install a shuttle bus line with code 641, which will operate between the “Piața Presei” and “Ghencea” terminals.
The buses will run in Bd. Expoziției, Bd. Mărăști, Bd. Mareșal Alexandru Averescu, Str. Turda, Grant Passage, Calea Crângași, Șos. Virtuții, Pasajul Lujerului, Str. Brașov, Bd. Ghencea and will make stops at the stations, as follows:
On the way to the “Ghencea” terminal:
– on Mărăști Blvd., at the “Agronomy” stations (located in the Agronomic Institute area) and “Casin” (located after the intersection with Alexandru Constantinescu street);
– in Str. Turda, at the stations „Bd. Ion Mihalache ”(located after the intersection with Ion Mihalache Blvd.) and“ Grant Passage ”(located before Grant Passage);
– in Calea Crângași and in Șos. Virtuții, in the stations of bus line 178, as well as in the new station “Bd. Uverturii ”(located before Bd. Uverturii);
– in Str. Brașov, at the stations of the bus lines 105, 173 and 221, as well as at the new station “Bd. Timișoara ”(located after the intersection with Bd. Timișoara);
– at the “Ghencea” terminal, at the R425 regional line station.
On the way to the “Press Square” terminal:
– in Brașov street, at the stations of bus lines 105, 173 and 221, as well as at the new stations “Drumul Taberei” (located in the area of the Church of St. Friday) and “Bd. Timișoara ”(located before the intersection with Bd. Timișoara);
– in the path. Virtuții, in the new station “Bd. Uverturii ”(located after the intersection with Bd. Uverturii), then at the stations of bus line 178;
– in the path. Crângași, at stations on line 178;
– in Str. Turda, in the new station “Turda” (located after Grant Passage);
– at Mareșal Alexandru Averescu Blvd., at the tram station „Bd. Ion Mihalache ”(located after the intersection with Bd. Ion Mihalache);
– on Mărăști Blvd., at the tram stations “Cașin” (located after the intersection with Alexandru Constantinescu street) and “Agronomie” (located in the area of the Agronomic Institute);
– at the “Press Square” terminal, at the bus stations for lines 261 and 304.
On the section between the “Press Square” terminal and Ion Mihalache Blvd., buses will pass the streetcar and stop at the stations on the streetcar platforms.
„The Bucharest Transport Company will carefully supervise the operation of line 641 and will intervene operatively in the reconfiguration of the traffic schedule, should the transport request so require. Furthermore, in order to speed up traffic in the busy areas of the route, STB SA will collaborate with the police agencies ”, stated the STB press office.
