The liberal deputy is in his fourth term, being a member of the Chamber of Deputies for the last 16 years, from 2004 to this year. He was a deputy from Buzău between 2004 and 2016, then elected in 2016 as a deputy from Dâmbovi ,a, on the PNL lists.
Cezar Preda declared, on Monday night, on a television channel, that he had a discussion with the president of the PNL, Prime Minister Ludovic Orban, to whom he explained that he has a personal project.
“I do not want to run again. I have been at the top of politics for two decades. It is time for young people to come. I spoke with the prime minister, I told him I had my project. It is a project that depends on the success of my party”, the deputy explained.
Cezar Preda is 61 years old and entered politics in the Democratic Party in 1999, during the presidency of Petre Román. He joined the PNL in February 2005, after the merger of the two parties PNL and PD.
He headed the PDL Buzău branch for 10 years, from 2001 to 2014. He was vice president of the Democratic Party, then vice president of the Liberal Democratic Party and, since 2014, of the PNL, shows Realitatea.
Three weeks ago, Liviu Pleșoianu (PSD) accused Cezar Preda of assaulting Nicușor Dan in 2016, the current mayor of the capital asked him why he does not reveal who finances him.
