Emanuel Ungureanu accuses USR Cluj of not wanting him for a new term: “That word from Miorița: The Hungarian Baciu had even more, proud and horny” – Politics

Deputy Emanuel Ungureanu accused the USR Cluj leadership of not wanting him for a new legislature, announcing that he was leaving the local organization but that he wanted to be “adopted” by another branch of the party.

Emanuel Ungureanu also announced that he was removed from the USR-PLUS list for the winter parliamentary elections after following the alliance’s internal elections in Cluj, he came out in an ineligible location.

The main statements of the USR deputy, made during a live broadcast on his Facebook page:

• I sacrificed myself for a bid in a competition that I knew had no chance of winning at home to get a decent score because any lesser known colleague than me would have scored disastrously.
• In negotiations with the management of PLUS Cluj, he requested two places for them and two places to go to USR.
• The two directions did not understand each other (…) USR Cluj did not accept this offer from 2 to 2, reaching a common leadership where those from PLUS were more, better organized and imposing their people depending on the principle of belonging to a gang
• Before entering the local electoral campaign, I asked my PLUS colleagues to allow me access to PLUS members, in order to speak with them, the PLUS management denied me for a long time.
• There was a great contrast in the image that people outside have of me and the image that some colleagues falsely formed who envied me for my performances, for my visibility, that word from Miorița: “The Hungarian kiss had more sheep, proud and horny”
• I hope that another branch of the USR will adopt me that is proud of me, that loves me, that supports me
• In the electoral campaign I practically worked with 3-4 people, the rest I don’t know what they did, people seemed to come, smoke a cigarette and go out.
• Both the USR and PLUS leadership in Cluj need to be reformed as clearly as possible from my point of view, the two sides are still competing for positions in a very small competition.
• Those who manipulated the elections without principles must be brought to light
• I will not leave USR but that does not mean that this mess that happened to Mihai Goțiu and other colleagues should remain under the rug
• It was a game of who has the biggest gang
• I will try to meet them, you know how that sounds, I have been a Cluj MP for years, I do not know at all my colleagues who are in eligible places
• They called that “combination” realpolitik
• They said of me that I am an old man that must be removed and enough is enough
• This is how history was written in two young games, divided, that appear on TV and talk about meritocracy but that, unfortunately, on the inside they showed this time that it is different.
• Absolutely no one from the management of USR Cluj or PLUS Cluj told me after 4 years of mandate “Congratulations!”, They did not put a post on Facebook in which to say “the organization USR Cluj or PLUS Cluj thanks you for your work.
• No posts, no kind words, no phone calls
• When was he to be sacrificed [la alegerile locale] I was very good, when I asked for a place due to impeccable competence and parliamentary activity they told me “yes, you’re old, we don’t like you”
• Vlad Voiculescu and Dan Barna supported me publicly, they did not remove me from the list as speculated

However, Ungureanu claimed that the result of the USR-PLUS internal elections in Cluj is related to local political calculations and that he continues to urge voters to vote for the alliance.
