Romania has more than 150,000 infections after 3,517 new cases of infected people were registered in the last 24 hours. To date, on October 10, in Romania, 152,403 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID – 19) have been confirmed. 116,628 patients were declared cured.

After the tests carried out at the national level, compared to the last report, there were 3,517 new cases of infected people with SARS – CoV – 2 (COVID – 19), being these cases that have not previously had a positive test.

The counties where the 14-day cumulative infection coefficient, reported per 1,000 population, exceeds the 1.5 threshold are as follows:

Until today, 5,358 people diagnosed with COVID-19 infection died.

They have been reported in the last 24 hours. 59 deaths (39 men and 20 women), of some patients infected by the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Alba, Arad, Bacău, Bihor, Bistrița-Năsăud, Brașov, Buzău, Caraș-everin, Constanța, Dâmbovița, Galați, Harghita, Iași, Maramureș , Olt, Prahova, Suceava, Vaslui, Ilfov and Bucharest.

Of these, 1 death was recorded in the age category 30 to 39 years, 2 deaths were recorded in the age category 40 to 49 years, 8 deaths in the category 50 to 59 years, 13 deaths in the category of age 60-69 years, 13 deaths in the age group 70 to 79 years and 22 deaths in the category over 80 years.

58 of the deaths recorded were from patients who had comorbidities and one deceased patient had no comorbidities.

In specialized health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 8,854 Of these, 629 are hospitalized in ATI.

To date 2,656,828 tests have been processed nationwide. Of these, 29,284 were performed in the last 24 hours, 16,924 according to the case definition and medical protocol and 12,360 upon request.

In Romania, 13,247 people confirmed with the new coronavirus infection are isolated in their homes and 8,464 people are institutionally isolated. In addition, 27,472 people are in home quarantine and 9 people are in institutionalized quarantine.
