Another 3,186 new cases of COVID-19 – a new record – were reported in the last 24 hours in Romania, the balance reached 148,886, according to data reported on Friday by the Strategic Communication Group. Likewise, on the last day there were another 52 deaths, while 613 patients were hospitalized in intensive care, increasing compared to the previous day. On Thursday, for the first time since the beginning of the pandemic in our country, the threshold of 3,000 diseases per day was exceeded, with 3,130 reported cases.
To date, on October 9, in Romania, 148,886 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus have been confirmed. After the tests carried out at the national level, compared to the last report, 3,186 new cases of people infected with SARS-CoV-2 were registered, cases that had not previously had a positive test. Aside from the recently confirmed cases, after reassessment of the already positive patients, 653 people were positively reconfirmed.
To date, 5,299 people diagnosed with COVID-19 have died
Between 08.10.2020 (10:00) – 09.10.2020 (10:00) 52 deaths were reported (24 men and 28 women), of some patients infected by the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Alba, Arad, Argeș, Bacău, Botoșani, Brăila, Brașov, Caraș-Severin, Constanța, Dâmbovița, Dolj, Harghita, Hunedoara, Iași, Mureș , Olt, Prahova, Sălaj, Sibiu, Suceava, Tulcea, Vaslui, Vrancea, Ilfov and Bucharest. Of these, 4 deaths were recorded in the age group 40 to 49 years, 5 deaths in the age category 50 to 59 years, 16 deaths in the age category 60 to 69 years, 13 deaths in the age category of age 70 to 79 years and 14 deaths in the category of over 80 years. 51 of the registered deaths were of patients with comorbidities and one deceased patient had no comorbidities.
In health units, the total number of people hospitalized for COVID-19 is 8,772. Of these, 613 are hospitalized in ATI.
To date, 2,627,544 tests have been processed nationwide. Of these, 29,282 were carried out in the last 24 hours17,286 based on the case definition and medical protocol and 11,996 upon request.
In Romania, 12,935 people confirmed with a new coronavirus infection are in home isolation and 8,418 people are in institutional isolation. In addition, 27,009 people are quarantined at home, and there are 9 people in institutionalized quarantine.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, 114,792 patients have been declared cured.
