In the past 24 hours, there have been 3,186 new cases of COVID-19, a troubling new record for coronavirus infections since the start of the pandemic. Additionally, 52 other Romanians died due to the COVID-19 disease. In Bucharest and seven counties, the infection rate exceeds the threshold of 1.5.
To date, on October 9, in Romania, 148,886 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID – 19) have been confirmed. 114,792 patients were declared cured. To date, 5,299 people diagnosed with COVID-19 infection have died.

52 deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours (24 men and 28 women), of some patients infected by the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Alba, Arad, Argeș, Bacău, Botoșani, Brăila, Brașov, Caraș-Severin, Constanța, Dâmbovița, Dolj, Harghita, Hunedoara, Iași, Mureș , Olt, Prahova, Sălaj, Sibiu, Suceava, Tulcea, Vaslui, Vrancea, Ilfov and Bucharest.
Of these, There were 4 deaths in the age category 40 to 49 years, 5 deaths in the category 50 to 59 years, 16 deaths in the age category 60 to 69 years, 13 deaths in the age category 70 to 79 years and 14 deaths in those over 80 years.
