In the foreground is the president of the PSD, Marcel Ciolacu, but also the issue of the general councilors elected from the party’s list for the capital city council.
The leader of the Social Democrats reportedly told Gabriela Firea that he did not share her tastes regarding the names present on the General Council’s selection list.
Thus, neither more nor less, Ciolacu asked her to give up a few along with those who were with her in the group photo of the campaign.
Iordănescu and Dumitru Dragomir, target
Among those nominated by Ciolacu are the former coach of the Romanian soccer team, but also the former president of the Professional Football League, Dumitru Dragomir.
At least that is what the sources of hotnews.ro assure, which have advanced another important name on the list of rejected: Petre Roman.
As for the former prime minister, it must be said that he agreed to resign as general counsel.
Petre Roman, yes, the others, yes!
Not only Ciolacu demanded the change of lines in the General Council of Bucharest, but also Sorin Grindeanu, the former leader of the Romanian government.
This ungrateful situation would not have been possible if Gabriela Firea had taken into account the PSD’s recommendations and had not drawn up her own list of already famous councilors.
In this context, good news came from Petre Roman, who confirmed to hotnews.ro that he agreed to withdraw from the PSD council list:
“I withdrew from the list of counselors after a discussion with Ms. Firea and the PSD leadership.
The reason why I made this decision is related to the fact that Mrs. Gabriela Firea lost the City Council of the Capital.
I agreed to be on the CG list for the two soul projects I had with Ms. Firea. Now they can’t be done anymore, so I decided to retire. “
PSD has no chemistry with Iordănescu and Dragomir
Probably for the current PSD leadership also matters the fact that in 2009 Anghel Iordănescu announced his resignation from the Social Democrats and supported Traian Băsescu in the presidential elections that year.
Iordănescu’s resignation came a day after that of Gabriel Oprea (the former leader of the PSD Ilfov branch at the time), followed by vice-presidents Gigi Neţoiu and Florentin Pandele, the husband of Gabriela Firea, re-elected mayor of Voluntari.
The reasons for the disagreement about the person of Dumitru Dragomir are not very clear, but one thing is clear: the PSD leadership reportedly informed Gabriela Firea that it does not want to associate her image with the two footballers.
“Dragomir and Iordănescu do not want to surrender, but it is Mrs. Firea’s problem. She proposed, she solved. PSD cannot bear them. The management wants other names for the General Council”, explain the sources of hotnews.ro.
