The SCANDAL continues at USR! Senator Florina Presadă puts the books in her face and talks about the countertops at the party – Source news

Senator Florina Presadă (USR) spoke Thursday in an interview on Living truth about the problems in USR-PLUS Bucharest. He accuses Vlad Voiculescu and Claudiu Năsui of proposing a special list of delegates to vote for seats in parliament as necessary. Furthermore, he claims that the meritocracy has not been respected by USR leaders for a long time.

“It just came to our notice then. The delegates are elected in each branch and these delegates form the municipal conference which in turn will elect the USR-PLUS parliamentary candidates. This process, this internal competition in the Bucharest branch did not exist From today until tomorrow, the deadlines were announced to be able to register as a delegate at the municipal conference and also, in a certain place, voting indications appeared for the members of the voting branch of USR Bucharest that they had to choose a certain list of delegates, so that they can vote for a certain list of parliamentarians. There was no competition, a real competition between registered members to be able to be registered delegates, “said Presadă.

Have you been elected delegate?

No. I looked at the last delegate, recommended by Claudiu Năsui and Vlad Voiculescu on a site that was made public the day before the delegates were elected. Basically I didn’t have access to PLUS members to campaign, I didn’t know the total number of members. The delegates were elected from today until tomorrow. At the urging of Claudiiu Năsui and Vlad Voiculescu, the leaders of USR and PLUS Bucharest. Noting that these delegates will vote for a certain list of parliamentarians because they have been trained to do so. I find it a bit strange to think that those delegates will have the discernment to choose the best list for parliamentarians. (…) A list of the center and those chosen was handed over. The pity about this system is that, in fact, voting with delegates pushes you to vote for a list. My colleagues and I campaigned for universal suffrage within the party.

It’s like this always happens at USR.

Not all the time. Unfortunately, only when it was helpful to leadership. For example, in Bucharest, candidates for the General Council were elected by universal suffrage, although the statute provided for the vote of the delegates. Then Claudiu Năsui considered that it would be good to have this universal vote. Well, now that in the negotiations between USR and PLUS this system with delegates was preferred. Obviously, it is strange that all those people recommended by Claudiu Năsui and Vlad Voiculescu became delegates and only they were delegates. Honestly, I expected things to be different after the merger. We voted in favor of the merger in the hope that things will change in RSU and that we will see a different policy in RSU. I am very disappointed that Vlad Voiculescu participates in what is happening in Bucharest now with these lists and recommendations given to the members of the branches to vote only for a few people.

The information about sources from the pro-Barna camp is that people like you, Cristi Seidler, Vlad Alexandrescu, will not be on the lists. Why would USR give up vocal politicians and active parliamentarians?

All three made their presence feel different from other colleagues who were much calmer. At the moment, the word meritocracy is just a word that the party leadership is waving in front of the voters. It’s just a bad weather order. Meritocracy is no longer respected by RSU leaders. I did not make this internal party policy to support one side or the other. We have also charged for abuses or landslides regardless of their origin. Be it Cristi Ghinea, Nicuşor Dan, Dan Barna or Claudiu Năsui. I wanted to do my job as a senator and I considered that in this way I add value to citizenship. I was not elected a senator on December 11, 2016 to work for the party. I was elected to do my job as a senator. I don’t want to follow this kind of thinking that now exists on top of USR-PLUS, that is, that people will vote for USR-PLUS lists anyway because they don’t have anything better to vote for. No, people will vote for USR-PLUS if they think there are people on the USR-PLUS lists who deserve it. This kind of thinking that people will vote for USR-PLUS anyway is an extremely arrogant kind of thinking that has brought us much harm over time. People have seen this in presidential and local elections, and we see the electoral result of these policies of promoting people on the basis of loyalty to the party leadership rather than promoting people based on their work and merits they have in their work. I would like to go back to what USR and PLUS stand for. Competition and meritocracy and going in front of people with a list of people who worked, but who worked for the citizens of Romania, not for one party leader or another.

Can USR remain a party that accepts more currents of thought? When Nicusor Dan decided to switch from USB to USR, USR was thought of as a union of the modern center-right and the left. Instead, this acceptance speech was shelved.

There is currently no ideological division within the party. What we see now is a confrontation between a leadership that has become abusive, imposing its people on the list, without taking into account what the Romanians really need, without taking into account that within the party meritocracy must be rewarded. The results obtained by USR-PLUS in the local elections are poor results. Where we win mayoralties are elections won by some good people who campaigned on their own. I think of Dominic Fritz in Timişoara, Allen Coliban in Braşov and even Clotilde in Sector 1. The rest has already been seen. There are counties, county-head municipalities with extremely poor results. People know that we don’t show up to them with our best effort. People will continue to charge us if we continue like this. That should be the only policy in USR-PLUS. Integrity, transparency and competence. We cannot go and claim in front of the people that we will promote these things once we come to power if we cannot prove them within the party.

Paraphrasing a politician on the campaign trail. The vote is won, it is not given. When are the decisive days to establish the vote in Bucharest?

The vote in the municipal conference is on October 10, that is, in two days. I want to believe that the lists are not yet made, I want to believe that the delegates vote freely. I still believe that we are free to think and vote as we see fit.

How many delegates are there?

70 delegates in Bucharest, all delegates recommended by Claudiu Năsui and Vlad Voiculescu.

And will it be a physical date?

It will be an online vote.

So, on the night of October 10, we will find out the names of the candidates.

Or the next morning.

I will ask the question again. The names of the USR candidates or the names of the USR-PLUS candidates?

The names of the USR-PLUS candidates without a doubt. We have to go ahead with a USR-PLUS list, we are an alliance. I would have voted for PLUS people, not just USR. I never bothered to vote only for a list of USR people.

Do you think it is still possible for USR-PLUS to reach a score of 20% in the European Parliament, given that it has now only raised 10% in local elections?

If we understand that we have to present ourselves to the people with an electoral offer that takes into account meritocracy and performance, we have the possibility of obtaining a very good score in the next parliamentary elections. If people see that we make a list of people obedient to leadership, people will get paid.

Why would a list of people obedient to leadership be preferable?

I cannot answer that question. I can only make assumptions. Claudiu Năsui and Vlad Voiculescu can answer why they will present themselves to voters with one list and not another. Why do you prefer a pre-established list and don’t let the delegates choose freely. That’s what it’s all about, after all. These delegates must choose freely. I have already been notified. These delegates were chosen for a purpose. to choose a certain list.

Do you think USR-PLUS is ready to enter the government the way it is presented?

With obedient people who put themselves in positions just because they have this quality that they haven’t raised their voice against leadership? No I dont think so.
