CSAT meeting in videoconference system, after Ludovic Orban went into quarantine

The Supreme Council of National Defense will meet on Tuesday, in a videoconferencing system, under the leadership of President Klaus Iohannis. The agenda includes topics related to the strategic analysis of Defense; White Paper on Defense; the implementation plan of the National Defense Strategy for the period 2020 – 2024; Risks, threats and vulnerabilities to national security forecast for next year, according to the Presidential Administration.

During the meeting, which will take place at 1:00 p.m., other current issues in the field of national security will be analyzed, said the source cited by Agerpres.

Prime Minister Ludovic Orban, who is CSAT vice chairman, requested coronavirus testing on Monday morning, after one of the people he was on a television with last week was positively confirmed. Subsequently, the Government announced that the test is negative, and the Prime Minister will remain in quarantine until Thursday, from where he will exercise his functions, without physical interaction with other people. Orban will undergo a new test for SARS-CoV-2 infection on Thursday.

On September 25, the Presidential Administration announced that President Klaus Iohannis had decided to convene the CSAT on October 6 to discuss issues related to the country’s defense and national security.
