The Municipal Board of the PNL voted on Monday night, with 11 votes “in favor” and 7 “against”, for Stelian Bujduveanu to be the party’s proposal for the post of Deputy Mayor of the Capital. Vlad Voiculescu is supported by USR-PLUS, and Mihail Neamțu could be the third deputy mayor, if negotiations with the PMP for the formation of a majority in the General Council bear fruit.

“It is no secret that I was one of the liberal candidates for the post of deputy mayor general. Today the Municipal Board of PNL decided that another liberal is more suitable for this position. I respect the party’s decision, I congratulate Stelian Bujduveanu and wish him success in the next legislature ”, announced Cătălin Deaconescu, councilor for PNL.

He says Bujduveanu will make a good team with Nicusor Dan and Vlad Voiculescu.

“As for me, I will continue to be a liberal and I will continue to fight for the projects I have proposed, as long as NLP needs my experience. I thank those who encouraged and supported me in this endeavor, from within NLP but also from civil society. We are still together, “adds Deaconescu.

Stelian Bujduveanu served as NLP General Counsel during Gabrielei Firea’s tenure.

After the local elections on September 27, the General Council of Bucharest will be made up of PSD, USR-PLUS, PNL and PMP, these being the only parties that have crossed the electoral threshold. According to the Municipal Electoral Bureau, PSD will have 21 of the 55 council seats, followed by USR-PLUS with 17 seats, PNL with 12 seats, and PMP with 5 seats.

One of the five general advisers of the PMP is Mihail Neamțu. He declared, today, for Digi24.ro, that it is the Popular Movement Party’s proposal for the post of deputy mayor who coordinates the cultural institutions of the Capital City Council. The PMP vice president also said that Nicușor Dan, PNL and USR-USR will have to decide whether PMP will be co-opted to form a clear majority on the General Council of the City Council, which is now “fragile”.
