Eight high school students who were in the courtyard of a school in Constanța on Saturday night were detained by the police and taken to the ward, where they were fined for “violating the legal rules of access”.

A father of one of the children posted on Facebook the fine his son received and accused that the police action is “proof of the inability of some policemen to discern an act committed in bad faith by an innocent act of some children.”

“All the children taken by van are just Olympians and study in famous high schools starting with: Ovidius, Traian, Eminescu, Calinescu. No child has had any trouble with the law or received a fine and they all come from good families,” he wrote the father of one of the children, Bogdan Albota, on the social network.

What the police say:

“Police from Section 2 identified a group of 8 young people, between 14 and 16 years old, who were in the courtyard of the educational institution, violating the legal norms of access.

The 8 young people were taken to the pavilion, where they were punished with a fine of 250 lei, each, according to art. 2, point 13 of Law 61/1991 R.

At the same time, the police reminded them of their responsibility to comply with health protection measures and physical distance to protect themselves, but also everyone around them. We specify that these verification actions will continue in the next period. “

What the father of one of the children says:

I leave here proof of the inability of some police officers to discern an act committed in bad faith by an innocent act of some children.

Today around 8 pm, some ninth graders were sitting quietly talking inside school 29 without disturbing anyone. During the day, they also played basketball or soccer in the schoolyard 29. At 8:00 p.m. some policemen from section 2 arrived, who had captured all the criminals in the neighborhood, and picked up about 10 children with police patrols, taking them to section 2. the boy called the police and does not know why he did nothing wrong.

I’m going to the police to pick it up and now the interesting part begins. I identify with mine and the child’s and the police don’t look at bulletins. I ask him why they took the boy out of the schoolyard and into the ward. A policeman named Ruță tells me that he was not allowed to enter the schoolyard according to law 61. That is, if he is not a student in that school, he is not allowed to play or sit in the schoolyard.

Okay, but why not put up signs on the school fence to warn children that they are not allowed to play in the yard? (Answer pause because it is not your competition). I ask him why the school door is not locked and there is no guard who will not let the children in if it is so serious to play in the schoolyard. (Police reply: I fined the school 5,000 lei).

After sitting at 1:30 in the courtyard of the 2nd police station, the boy came out with a pv of 250 RON accompanied by Mr. Rutea, proud of having solved a difficult case.

You are the night of the mind. Do not provide decent playgrounds for children, do not provide security and closure of playgrounds within schools if the problem is so great that some children are playing.

Last but not least, all the kids taken by van are just Olympians and study at famous high schools starting with: Ovidius, Traian, Eminescu, Calinescu. No child has ever been in trouble with the law or received a fine, and they all come from good families.

Congratulations, Mr. Rutea, you did a good job. If you really were a man of character, I think it was enough to warn the children and kindly explain that they are not allowed to play in the schoolyard. But he was not overly zealous.

Congratulations to the uniformed policemen who, as young people, identified with the children while keeping them locked up in the police station. We will challenge the fines imposed in court and hope to have a rational judge.

This is Romania, the country where we run into invented problems and we don’t solve real problems. “
