The final results of last Sunday’s elections will not be released today either. Procedures continue to complete the electoral process. Below are a series of formalities that must be completed in order for the Central Electoral Office (BEC) to officially announce the final results, probably on Monday.
Andreea Dumitrescu, Digi24 journalist: “In the Capital, for example, the procedure is still blocked by a series of resources from the political parties. For example, in Sector 5 the final act could not be concluded, precisely because several parties in this sector require the counting of votes, despite the successive decisions made by the electoral bureaus that in the end do not allow it.
Below are a series of appeals that must be resolved, so that the final act can be concluded, first by the sectors, then by the Municipal Electoral Board, so that finally the BEC can close all this process.
The final acts are concluded, on the one hand, electronically, and here we are talking about the whole country, on the other hand they must be brought physically by the presidents of the county electoral offices in Bucharest, in BEC and only then can the entire process. This formality delays the announcement of the final results.
The most important thing to remember is that the way things are now, the winners we already know, the results we already know cannot be changed. This announcement that we are waiting for from BEC is actually a procedure that will not bring any more surprises, and this answer is only possible to know on Monday ”.
