The mayor-elect of the Capital, Nicusor Dan, declared this Wednesday that, from the moment he takes office, he will carry out a breakdown management regarding the situation of the district heating networks, respectively of heating and hot water in Bucharest , according to Agerpres.

“We have an emergency problem, which is coming this winter. As you know, ELCEN said that because no repairs have been made this summer, the amount of water they have to put into the network is three. times higher than in 2016 and is approaching the limit from which it is no longer possible (…) That is why we have to manage emergencies from the moment we arrive, this means having materials prepared for emergency interventions to count with emergency response teams prepared and having emergency detectors prepared, so that people can go precisely to the place where the damage is located and at the same time correctly reprogram the affected people. we can do it this winter, “said Nicuşor Dan before a meeting with Finance Minister Florin Cîţu.

He stated that “there will be hundreds of damages.”

“There will be hundreds of damages, we cannot avoid them. It is about intervening in them as soon as possible and telling those affected how long they last,” added Nicusor Dan.

He insisted on rationalizing the current system, to the detriment of block or apartment power plants, which require resizing gas networks and at the same time pollute.

“In some ways it is a question of scale. You can put a boiler in an apartment, you can put a block of flats, a district power station or large power stations on the outskirts of the city. So it is a gradual problem between These two maximum solutions. We cannot extinguish two obvious reasons for each Bucharest resident to have their own power plant, because: 1 – the gas network must be resized and this – says Distrigaz – takes 10 years, years we do not have; 2 – very important – the apartment power plants pollute and we do not allow ourselves to further pollute Bucharest, on the contrary, we need to rationalize the centralized system. (…) We need additional sizing of the gas network that lasts and costs, they also pollute, even if it is less than individual power plants, and 3 – you can’t do energy efficiency in cogeneration because you don’t have the power grid to take over electricity ad that will occur, so there are some logistical problems for which the only reasonable solution is to resolve the issue as it is, ”argued Nicusor Dan, according to Agerpres.
