Dan Cristian Popescu, the PSD candidate for Mayor of Sector 2, asks for the votes to be counted, pointing out “a series of serious discrepancies, which are likely to influence the outcome of the elections at the sector level.”
“After the parallel computation of the minutes that the delegates of our party brought from the polling stations and the comparison of these results with the official results published on the website www.roaep.ro, I found a series of serious inconsistencies, which are nature to influence the outcome of the elections at the sector level, in the sense of being appointed to the office of mayor another candidate than the one who received the most validly expressed votes ”, shows a statement sent by Dan Cristian Popescu.
He says that Neculai Onțanu, an opponent of these elections, is “a person well versed and experienced in electoral fraud.”
“In sector 2, we fought with a very well versed and experienced figure in electoral fraud, former mayor Neculai Onțanu, so we have every reason to ask for the vote recount. Theft in polling stations is a practice, unfortunately, in Romania and in no way should we be victims of the results so far.
We will fight for every vote! The residents of Sector 2 must have their vote defended and know that their effort has not been in vain. I thank you once again for your trust and I promise you that we will shed light on the electoral process in Sector 2, ”said Dan Cristian Popescu, PSD candidate for Mayor of Sector 2.
According to the latest partial data announced by BEC, at 09.00 hours, after the centralization of 97.55% of the votes, Radu Mihaiu (USR-PLUS supported by PNL) has 36.91%, Dan Cristian Popescu (PSD) – 31 , 5%, and Neculai Onţanu (ADER PPU-SL Alliance) – 14.06%.
