The leaders of USR-PLUS presented on Monday morning, after the partial results of the local elections, some of the victories they won. Dan Barna said that the new party obtained thousands of councilors in localities throughout the country, while Dacian Cioloș specified that it is “a change in the way of doing politics” and that, if there had been elections in two rounds, RSU – PLUS would have had better results.

Barna congratulated Dominic Fritz, Gabriel Pleşa, Allen Coliban, Lucian Viziteu, but also Clotilde Armand and Radu Mihaiu, winners in the big cities. She also mentioned B.ogdan Novac, elected mayor in Breaza, Elena Lasconi in Câmpulung, but also Vasile Cărare and Camelia Betea.
“These are the points from which USR-PLUS will conduct such important and necessary good governance,” added Barna.
Regarding the majority of county and local councils, he said that “we will be very firm in the principles that we support in the campaign: integrity, transparency, zero tolerance for nepotism, corruption or lack of integrity.”
“We are awaiting the final results, we ask our colleagues to be vigilant until the end, because we had cases in which we lost by a difference of 1 or 2 votes,” he stressed.
In turn, Dacian Cioloș said that “for USR-PLUS it is not so much the number of mayors and councilors that is significant, but the fact that it is the first time that citizens vote to appreciate the principles we have deployed.”
