Simona Halep was the first Romanian athlete to enter the scum of Paris and managed to impose herself, without emotions, 6-4, 6-0, against Sara Sorribes Tormo. On the same day, Sunday, the adventure will begin at the French Open and Irina Begu.
The Romanian program at Roland Garros 2020
Irina Begu will face Jil Teichmann in the first round of Roland Garros, a match scheduled for Sunday around 17:30. The winner of the match will play in the second round against Simona Halep.
Starting on the second day of competition, the other five representatives from Romania, Patricia Țig, Sorana Cîrstea, Ana Bogdan, Monica Niculescu and Irina Bara, will enter the tournament, the last two reaching the main table after qualifying.
The matches of the five Romanian athletes will be played on Monday or Tuesday, the exact date and time to be set by the organizers later.
