Fritz has so far 54% of the votes, while Robu only got 34%.
Nicolae Robu’s statement was greeted with cheers at USR-PLUS campaign team headquarters.
Robu: “It is the will of the people of Timisoara”
“We lost, it is the will of the people of Timisoara, the difference is great. Comparing the number of votes, the difference is surprisingly large, I cannot say in percentages. I considered that it was going to be a tight scoreboard and I was optimized until the last moment, but the difference is great, which means that the expectations of the people of Timisoara are different ”, declared on Sunday afternoon the liberal Nicolae Robu.
“I can honestly say that if I had to choose whether to lose by a small difference or by a large difference, I would have chosen to lose by a large difference. I have no suffering. It means that I will not give in to what the people of Timisoara want for the next four. years. This is life, without regrets! I admit, I cannot be hypocritical, I wish that the goals for which I fought so hard – the new stadium, the Multipurpose Room, the Solvent Passage – were associated with my third mandate. It was not like that. I am happy with what I have achieved up to my age, both in my academic career and in that of mayor, “said Nicolae Robu an hour and a half after the polls closed, according to Tion.ro
Fritz’s victory was also announced on USR’s social media accounts.
“Congratulations, Dominic Fritz. Congratulations Timișoara!” USR Tineret wrote on Facebook.
