ALDE president Călin Popescu-Tăriceanu says the results obtained by ALDE in the municipal elections of the Capital are “a cause for deep disappointment”.
„It seems that the ALDE has not managed to reach the electoral threshold of 5% in Bucharest and in the rest of the sectors, but we must wait for the results of the polls at 11:00 pm, which will probably be more complete. These results are a cause for deep disappointment, it is a disappointment that I believe I share with my colleagues, the candidates from the six sectors of Bucharest. Unfortunately, the people of Bucharest did not choose between the candidates today, they did not choose between programs, between ideas, between projects, but between parties, although the parties will not lead the General City Council and the sectoral mayors ”, said Tariceanu.
„Of course, I am older in politics and used to better and worse times. That is why I confess that I am currently thinking of my colleagues who are younger, with less experience and who are living such a difficult moment, a moment of disappointment, a moment in which they expected more and I see that the result is totally and absolutely unsatisfactory “he added.
Tariceanu obtained 1.6% of the votes in local elections, according to the results of the exit polls, while ALDE obtained 2.2% of the votes of the General Council.
