George Balta, the name you’ll hear again: “I voted before Orban. SPREAD THIS so you can see and do something! “

What happened at a polling station in Ilfov County is along the following lines.

One day, on March 11, the life of rugby player George Balta took an unexpected turn. An accident on the field, during a game, was the beginning of a new life. George was paralyzed from the chest down, but he did not surrender to fate. Today he went to the polls.

DISTRIBUTE THIS so you can see and do something. 4 days ago we published (not on Facebook) that the Dobroești Ilfov School does not facilitate access for people with disabilities. Someone (I think the city hall) saw the mail and passed it to those responsible. NOTHING WAS DONE, NO RAMP, THERE IS NO OPTIMAL VOTING BOAT SO YOU CAN VOTE WITHOUT DIFFICULTY.

At 8 o’clock I voted, in front of Prime Minister Orban, who was waiting in line when I left. I presented the problem to him and hope to make myself heard even if I had a mask on.“Wrote, on Sunday, George Balta on his Facebook account.

“In 4 years, my name will be on the ballot because from my level things look differently,” said George Balta.

Here is the interview granted by George Balta, in 2017, for DCNews

March 10, 2006. What do you remember from that day?

March 10 reminds me that I had captain training, the last training before a game, being led by the team captain. It was a good training session, in which I worked out all the details. I felt ready.

March 11, 2006. The date that changed your life. How do you remember her now?

I remember it was a cloudy day and the horoscope told me something like I was going to have a day full of achievements. Unfortunately, the injury took away my strength to stand. Now, 11 years after the accident, I can say that it is the best thing that ever happened to me. I began to see what life meant and to appreciate all that it offered me. I met wonderful people and understood what true friendship means.

Going back, I understood that you tried all the methods that you heard that could help you, such as bioenergy. What was the most unusual experience?

Oh, the most atypical therapy seemed to me to be the one in which a hat with three eggs was put on my head. They told me that they would have poisoned me with heavy metals and that way I could eliminate them.

Discrimination: in our country, this concept manifests itself on multiple levels. When was the last time you felt discriminated against?

I feel discriminated every day by this inaccessible Romania. But Romania has beautiful people who help if necessary. I learned to see the whole side of the glass.

Social integration of adults with disabilities: what rating would you give Romania in this regard and why?

A lot of work is being done here. We are a group of people with disabilities who had the courage to open our mouths and sound the alarm, we are capable of many.

From 1 to 10, I would give it a 6-7.
