Ion Țiriac has always been discreet about his income, so he has never publicly declared how much he earns. However, the former tennis player would have revealed the amount he receives monthly in a circle of friends, for which he would have a pension between 10,000 and 12,000 lei. What is even more surprising is the fact that Ion Țiriac did not increase his pension in 1999, so the entire amount raised so far is in a bank account. After leaving tennis, Ion Țiriac was an official in the Interior Ministry for 20 years and retired with the rank of colonel. But it’s no wonder you don’t want to use them, given you have so many thriving businesses, so you’re not short on money.
According to the Romanian edition of the magazine ForbesIn recent years, Țiriac’s fortune has continued to grow, although not enough to remain the richest businessman in the country. While in 2016 his fortune was estimated at 5,400 million lei, at the end of 2019 the former tennis player amounted to a total fortune of 5,800 million lei. In this context, it seems that Ion Țiriac focuses his energy on his first love, tennis, becoming this year
Care and economy?
After the government announced that it will increase pensions by 14% from September 1, the current president of the Romanian Tennis Federation made a surprising statement, that is, he does not understand the decision of the rulers. The billionaire believes that the measure would be completely unjustified and therefore makes a comparison with what happened in France several years ago, but forgetting that Romania is not France and even less the income allocated to pensioners in the two countries does not admit terms of comparison.
„Brethren, with all due respect to retirees, I hear this with 20-year pensions! If pensions have been increasing for 20 years, it means that these people are billionaires. Where do pensions increase? What are you talking about? Matale says it increases them by 14%. Tell me: in 10 years, where do you get this 14%?
When he was François Mitterrand (na – Socialist President of France, in office between 1981 and 1995), he brought the retirement age in France to 60 years. When President Sarkozy arrived, he said: “What the Socialists have done is fine, but we have failed in 25 years!” We have no way of doing this. And he returned it at 65 or 67 years old.
And now I go back and say: where, how? What is the economy? I am not the Minister of Finance, nor do I manage my garden like the rest of the world, but everyone has to think about the future ”, declared the businessman for gsp.ro
