This is the fourth all-time high for the European currency in September.
The leu lost ground against major currencies: the US dollar was trading at 4.1883 lei, the Swiss franc at 4.5207 lei and the British pound at 5.3309 lei.
Financial analysts predict, in the latest study by CFA Romania, that the euro will reach 5 lei by the end of March 2021 and that the downward trend of the leu against the euro will continue.
The Swiss franc increased to 4.5207 lei.
The price of a gram of gold maintains its downward trend reaching: 249.2556.
The US dollar registered the value of 4.1883 lei, compared to 4.1529 lei recorded at the previous meeting.
