The mystery of the disappearance of the internet signal in a Welsh town was solved after 18 months, when it was discovered that an old television was the culprit, reports the BBC.
A resident of the town of Aberhosan did not know that his old television was emitting a signal that interrupted the Internet signal for all residents.
The engineers who investigated the problem discovered the source of the interference only after the replacement of all the cables did not change the situation at all.
“Every morning at 7 o’clock, it happens,” engineer Michael Jones told the BBC.
The engineers were surprised by the unsolved problem and only after bringing in a measuring device were they able to identify the source.
“Our device detected a strong signal in the village,” Jones said.
The owner of the television turned it on every morning at 7 o’clock, and the strong signal emitted by the television left the entire town without internet.
The man who unintentionally caused the situation promised not to use television anymore. According to Jones, the problem has not been repeated since.
