Memory disorders, disorientation, balance problems or lack of coordination are the effects of a repetitive and limited daily routine within four walls, says neurosurgeon Alexandru Vlad Ciurea. The doctor told Digi24 that people, especially the elderly, need to get out of the house and socialize, to stimulate the brain and immunity.
“I noticed something, not yet reported, in my patients who have mild phenomena, which is evolving. I’m very ashamed to throw them in front of a lady, Mr. Alzheimer. Everyone arrives lately, after a certain age, with memory disorders, disorientation, balance problems or no longer has the coherence of the gesture, drops the glass. Why? “My mother is stressed, my grandmother can no longer coordinate.” It is something else.
The connections in the nervous system are no longer made correctly, because this isolation did not lead to anything good. Between four walls, eventually watching television or discussing the same things in the family, all we did was fool ourselves for months and months. We have to go out! Man is a social product, he must speak, communicate, we must collaborate, we must socialize with each other.
We need to change the routine. At this moment we come across something new and in this new situation in which we find ourselves we have to adapt. Older people, don’t leave them at home. Take them out on a park bench at least to socialize, talk, play chess, do crossword puzzles. All of these things develop a lot of brain activity.
Many people, I have noticed lately, come to the family and say that they seem to forget, that they no longer know, that they keep the keys in the fridge. This meeting is very good for everyone. Brainstorming, view. The fact that one has a prettier tie, prettier clothes, a hairstyle. That works very well, it is not envy, it is not jealousy, it is positive thinking. Next comes the second element, endocrine secretion, and the third element, immunity.
Positive thoughts: this is how we should be. If we have a frown, annoyed, then you do not receive anything, neither your interlocutors, nor those at work, nor those at home, continuously. That does not lead to anything good. It also lowers immunity and makes you vulnerable to COVID. One of the means to combat COVID is immunity, good thoughts, our health, freshness, physical activity and positive thinking ”, explained the professor of neurosurgery.
He also presented what foods are good for the brain.
“One is the pleasure of eating and the other is the brain. The brain is very interesting. He likes very lean meat, fish, he likes all seeds, fruits, elements that have vitamin E, B12, nuts, all olives, mango, avocado. They are very rich in transmitters of substances that the brain absorbs. Chocolate, coffee, green tea, that turmeric, very good for the brain. Still, lots and lots of water. I agree with a glass of red wine, which opens the cerebral vessels. Red wine and all of this stimulates immunity, the body, ”said Ciurea.
At the same time, the doctor recommended Frequent hugs between acquaintances, to strengthen immunity, but also dance..
“Lovers sleep in each other’s arms. Why? Among them are those pheromones that are transmitted from one to another. We can hug the family. These extremely simple things: nice words, good music, a kiss, a hug, Parents, children, they matter a lot to the little ones and the big ones.
I would recommend dancing. I also included it in an article of mine on Alzheimer’s, where I talked about dance being an important element. Music, dance, closeness, hugs, coordination, ”said the neurosurgery specialist.
