A new opinion poll, commissioned by the PNL, for the elections in the City Hall of the capital, shows a narrow score between the USR-PLUS-PNL candidate, Nicușor Dan, and the PSD candidate, Gabriela Firea. In third place is the PMP candidate, former President Traian Băsescu.
In the opinion poll conducted by Novel Research, Nicu isor Dan is cited with the support of 33% of Bucharest residents, while his opponent, incumbent mayor Gabriela Firea, would get 30.5% of the votes. Former President Traian Băsescu is cited with 9% of voting intentions, while 18.5% of Bucharest residents are still undecided. Another 9% would vote with other candidates.
68% of Bucharest residents also believe that the outcome of the Bucharest mayoral elections will be close, while 31% believe that there will be a significant difference between the winner and the second place. Furthermore, 54% of Bucharest residents do not believe that Gabriela Firea deserves another term, compared to 35% who are satisfied with her work.
The survey had 840 respondents and the margin of error is 3.7%. The sample is representative of the Bucharest population with the right to vote in local elections and was conducted using the CATI method (computer-assisted telephone interview). The survey was conducted at the request of PNL.
Nicușor Dan presented the survey at a press conference: “It is an opinion poll conducted between September 16 and 17, that is, 2 and 3 days ago, by phone, 840 Bucharest residents, margin of error 3.4 %, the Research Novel company, several questions to which I will give the answers given by the people of Bucharest. Does the incumbent mayor deserve a new term? 54% of Bucharest residents said NO, 33% said YES, 11% DO NOT RESPOND. If we take into account only those who have a choice in this matter, 61% say they do not deserve a new mandate.
The inhabitants of Bucharest were asked whether or not they considered the competition for the General City Council to be close. 69% say it will be a competition with a close result. The people of Bucharest agree that any vote is important, they understand it ”, said the candidate of the USR-PLUS-PNL for the General City Council of the Capital.
