Prime Minister Ludovic Orban says that the behavior of the mayor of Sângeorz Băi, Traian Ogâgău, is “against any legal norm and common sense”. He specified that the mayor, who filmed his 14-year-old daughter while humiliating her, is no longer running for NLP in the local elections on September 27.
“Obviously I am against – definitely against – any aggressive behavior, especially towards a minor. I do not condone that behavior,” Orban said at a news conference.
“It is behavior against the legal rules and common sense,” he said.
The prime minister added that Ogâgău was the mayor of the NLP, but is no longer a candidate of the NLP.
The head of the Bistrița-Năsăud PNL branch, Ioan Turc, also said that the party renounces this character and condemns any kind of violence against children and that Traian Ogâgău is no longer a member of the NLP.
The police notified the case of the mayor of Sângeorz-Băi, after a video recording appeared in the public space in which he humiliated his 14-year-old daughter. The mayor defends himself by saying that no one has the right to tell him how to educate his children.
The Child Protection Authority requested that prosecutors be notified in this case.
