An 8-year-old boy infected with coronavirus has received intensive care. It is the first case of its kind in Romania, since the beginning of the pandemic. The minor arrived for the first time a week ago at the Buzău Hospital Emergency Department with a headache and fever. His parents are infected with the SARS – CoV – 2 virus. They tested him for COVID, but the result was negative, and the doctors suspected that he had meningoencephalitis and transferred him to the Gomoiu Hospital in the Capital, where he was a repeat offender. . This time, the result was positive.
However, after the infection, she developed a rare syndrome: multisystem inflammatory syndrome. For this reason, the boy was transferred to intensive care. His condition is stable, he does not need breathing devices, but his lungs have been affected.
Professor Alexandru Rafila said that this case “deserves all the attention and compassion, but fortunately children rarely have such complications.”
