The head of the Department of Emergency Situations, Raed Arafat, draws attention in a post on Facebook that misinformation and manipulations are launched in the public space that want to convince people not to wear a mask. Arafat also refers to the situation on Election Day, when citizens will not be able to vote if they refuse to wear a mask inside the polling station.
“Discussions continue on the use of a mask and on the obligation to wear a mask at the entrance to the voting station, invoking the right to vote even if a voter does not want to wear a mask inside the voting station. (…) From a public health point of view, that person is a possible source of contagion for other people in the electoral college, that is, the members of the commission and the voters who are in the electoral college. That person is a risk to others and a threat to their health, even if that person does not believe or admit this fact, ”writes Raed Arafat.
Arafat compares the situation of a person who refuses to wear a mask to that of someone who enters the polling station with a “gun in sight.”
“Let’s take a hypothetical situation: a person shows up at the polling station with a visible gun, is not convicted and has the right to vote at that moment; Do we let her into the school to vote or do we stop her at the entrance to protect the people inside? ”, Writes the owner of DSU.
The Secretary of State of the Ministry of the Interior calls on the population not to believe in the manipulations and misinformation launched in public space and to respect the rules.
“In conclusion, for our own good, let’s put misinformation and manipulation aside, let’s be wiser than those who try to use us as a tool or product to rate, profit or other interests, and see what happens. everything that surrounds us and in the world putting a single interest in front of us, that of the community and those close to us. (…) Just as we must respect the speed limit so as not to endanger the lives of others, even if we like speed, we must respect public health regulations during a pandemic even if they do not suit us. The respective rules have a single purpose, namely to protect public health, the health of the community, those around us, including loved ones, ”writes Arafat as well.
