The “COVIDIUS” high school went overnight from the yellow script to the red one. How the students got the news

Students at Ovidius High School in Constanza found out Thursday night that they cannot come to pick up their textbooks because the school principal has a coronavirus. Since then, the virus has spread to three of the teachers and fortunately none of the students.

To avoid congestion and maintain social distance, the opening ceremony was held online.

The promise was that classes would start normally today, especially for students in their later years.

The surprise came at night when, also in WhatsApp groups, they received the news that they have to prepare their tablets for the next day and not their notebooks, as they expected.

It is assumed that all students have tablets or mobile phones for online courses, being in one of the prestigious institutes in the city, so they were not asked if they have “course support.”

The only thing missing from the coronavirus equation and online education is textbooks. They haven’t even reached a student yet.

ANTONIA – Ovidius High School Senior: I initially regretted that being a senior I really wanted to be physically involved in classes, prepare for high school, and more. But being the first day I taught, I was pleasantly surprised by the teacher training, all the classes were much better than I expected. We even had two hours of Romanian and we started directly to solve high school options. All the teachers were perfectly mobilized. We met on online platforms with the video chat option built in. It was great.
