Marian Iordache, a councilor for the National Liberal Party and a former mayor of Medgidia, died Sunday night, as a result of her choking on food during lunch.

Marian Iordache, 59, died on September 13 at her home. Supposedly drowning while eating, her wife tried to help her, as did some of the neighbors, but could not be saved, reports ctnews.ro.

Marian Iordache was a councilor since 2016 representing PNL. In addition, in the last four years he was an advisor to the mayor of Cernavoda, Liviu Negoita.

Marian Iordache was mayor of Medgidia also of PNL between 2008-2016.

Marian Iordache was one of the youngest people in the local public administration in Constanta. She began her career in 1991 at Medgdia. Later she held the position of deputy mayor, local councilor, mayor for several periods and councilor of the National Liberal Party.
