Rangers coach Steven Gerrard used Ianis Hagi from the first minute, in the game against Dundee United, on matchday seven of the Premiership. The Romanian international did not disappoint him and decisively passed Ryan Kent for the first goal of the match.
The Glasgow Rangers opened the scoring in the 13th minute through Ryan Kent. After a midfield combination, Ianis Hagi came within inches of giving the home side the lead with an attack through the middle in the 29th minute. But his shot went sideways.
Ianis Hagi, leader in Scotland with the Rangers
Prior to this stage, Rangers ranked first in the Premiership rankings, with five wins and one draw in the first six games of the season. Ianis Hagi’s team was three points behind second-placed Hibernian and six lengths ahead of rival Celtic, but the white greens have two games less played.
Ianis scored his first goal in this for the Rangers in the championship game with Hamilton, won by the Scottish leader, score 2-0. After a weaker start to the season, the 21-year-old Romanian international appears to have recovered and is taking advantage the trust placed by coach Steven Gerrard.
