Prime Minister Ludovic Orban announced on Thursday that the draft decision on the extension of the state of alert has not received the opinion of the Legislative Council, so it will be discussed on Monday in an Emergency Committee.
“If we do not have the opinion of the Legislative Council, on Monday we will make the Emergency Committee to extend the state of alert. There are provisions that must be introduced for the September 27 elections.” Orban said at the government meeting on Thursday.
The current alert period expires early next week. According to officials, the restrictions so far will be maintained and no relaxation measures will be taken.
Regarding the local elections of September 27, the regulations introduced in the project to expand the alert state include the presence inside the voting table of a maximum of 5 voters at the same time.
Everyone, including members of the ward, will wear protective masks. Before and after voting, voters will sanitize their hands and will have to stand at least one meter away from each other, even if they wait in line.
The voting station must be ventilated and there must be no direct contact between its members and voters.
