The number of new COVID-19 cases is increasing again. Another 41 Romanians infected by coronavirus died

In the last 24 hours, 1,136 new cases were registered, of the 20,552 tests carried out. Authorities reported another 41 deaths after infection with the new coronavirus. 460 patients are admitted to intensive care.

To date, on September 8, in Romania, 97,033 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID – 19) have been confirmed.

40,838 patients were declared cured and 12,590 asymptomatic patients were discharged 10 days after detection.

Following tests conducted at the national level, compared to the last report, 1,136 new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (COVID – 19) were registered, cases that had not previously had a positive test.

Aside from newly confirmed cases, after retesting patients who were already positive, 618 people were positively reconfirmed.

To date, 3,967 people diagnosed with COVID-19 infection have died.

Between 07.09.2020 (10:00) – 08.09.2020 (10:00) there were 41 deaths (22 men and 19 women), of some patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Bacău, Bihor, Bistrița -Năsăud, Botoșani, Brașov, Buzău, Călărași, Dolj, Galați, Harghita, Hunedoara, Iași, Maramureș, Prahova, Sibiu, Suceava, Teleorman, Timiș, Vaslui, Vrancea, Ilfov and Bucharest.

Of these, 1 death was recorded in the age category 30 to 39 years, 4 deaths in the age category 40 to 49 years, 3 deaths in the age category 50 to 59 years, 9 deaths in the age category of age 60 to 69 years, 18 deaths in the age group 70 to 79 years and 6 deaths in the category over 80 years.

All 41 deaths were due to comorbidities.

In specialized health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 7,199. Of these, 460 are hospitalized in ATI.

To date, 1,966,290 tests have been processed nationwide. Of these, 20,552 were performed in the last 24 hours, 12,455 based on the definition of the case and medical protocol, and 8,097 upon request.

In Romania, 10,257 people confirmed with the new coronavirus infection are isolated in their homes and 6,171 people are in institutional isolation. Additionally, 34,260 people are in home quarantine and 45 people are in institutionalized quarantine.

In the last 24 hours, 903 calls were registered to the single emergency number 112 and 794 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), opened especially to inform citizens.

As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law No. 55 of 05.15.2020 on some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and the gendarmerie applied, in the last 24 hours, 578 penalties for minor offenses, amounting to 173,400 lei.

Likewise, through the competent structures of the Police, yesterday a crime was found for frustrating the fight against diseases, a fact foreseen and sanctioned by art. 352 Penal Code.

We remind citizens that the Ministry of the Interior has put into operation, as of 04/07/2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where infractions to sanitary protection regulations can be notified.

The calls are answered by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures for the verification of the notified issues.

Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other states, it was confirmed that 6,599 Romanian citizens were infected with COVID-19 (coronavirus): 1,905 in Italy, 1,253 in Spain, 124 in France, 2,935 in Germany, 159 in Great Britain, 28 in the Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 4 in the US, 111 in Austria, 20 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Switzerland, 3 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus, 19 in Greece , 5 in Cyprus, 2 in India, 2 in Ukraine and one in Argentina, Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg, United Arab Emirates, Malta, Brazil, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Sweden, Republic of the Congo, Hungary and Qatar. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic until now, 126 Romanian citizens abroad, 31 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 11 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the United States, one in Brazil, one in the Republic of the Congo and one in Greece, have died.

Of the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus, 338 were declared cured: 308 in Germany, 18 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.
