Follow “A difficult and difficult month” in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic, especially due to the electoral campaign and the resumption of the school, said Health Minister Nelu Tataru. The Health Minister specified that, if the rules and precautions to prevent the spread are observed, Romania could enter a downward slope of Covid-19 cases as of mid-October, Agerpres reports.

“It is a difficult month, it is a difficult month and if we are all partners to follow the rules, then I think that in mid-October we can think of a downward slope. Until then, all we have to do is manage the growth that we believe will be less during this period. An increase assumed with the opening of the school year and the electoral campaign ”, declared the Minister of Health to TVR.

„The school boards propose to the County Committees for Emergency Situations the scenario that this class will follow. If they opt for scenario 1, face to face, then there must be that distance of one meter, there must be a mask and disinfectant, there must be those circuits that can be found at the entrance of the school, and in the corridors during breaks and in the inner courtyard of the school. If that distance of one meter cannot be ensured, there are those separators that must be placed between the two children, ”said the Minister of Health.

The minister explained what would happen if there were cases of children infected with the new coronavirus: “When we have a child in a class with SARS-CoV-2 infection, then that child goes to the hospital and the others are quarantined at home and the class closes for 14 days. Since we have three children in three different classes, they go to the medical units and the others go to quarantine at home for 14 days and the school closes, ”added Nelu Tătaru.

As for the seasonal flu vaccine, the Health Minister said three million doses have been ordered, starting in mid-September.

“Last year we had 1.5 million doses of vaccine and around 500,000 doses of vaccine were sold in pharmacies. This year we have three million doses and, depending on the need, we will buy more. I hope that those who have been reluctant so far to use the flu vaccine. We are in a pandemic with coronavirus, we all complain that we do not have a vaccine. So let’s do what we have the vaccine for, “Tataru said.
