Dr. Raluca Ologu, head of the Anesthesia Intensive Care Unit at Bucur Maternity Hospital in Bucharest, designated maternity hospital for COVID patients, is infected with coronavirus and is hospitalized at Victor Babeș Hospital for Infectious Diseases in Bucharest . The staff of the Bucur Maternity Hospital are awaiting the epidemiological investigation of the Public Health Directorate and the tests of the medical personnel.

Manuela Predilă, a doctor at Bucur Maternity Hospital, writes on her Facebook page that “for 6 months since we have COVID, none of the Bucur Maternity staff have been tested.”

“We are not infectious diseases, we are all gynecologists and we do not have any contagion that has set foot in the maternity ward in 6 months to evaluate patients. I said that COVID staff should be rotated, because repeated exposure increases the risk of contamination. We do not perform any medical act except in the PPE protective suit, which makes medical maneuvers very difficult. The risk is much higher in surgical specialties and ATI. They did not listen to us here and the inevitable happened, “says Dr. Manuela Predilă.

Raluca Ologu is the first doctor at the Bucur Maternity Hospital to be diagnosed with a coronavirus infection.
