The story of the mayor who has not had a candidate for 12 years. You only need one vote to win

Marian Musat won the elections for the first time in the Valea Salciei commune in Buzau in 2000 and since then she has managed, in all the elections that followed, to remain in charge of the town. And this year she is running on her own and a single vote would be enough to win the mayor’s office again.

Marian Musat is the PSD candidate for mayor of Valea Salciei in Buzau. She has no rival, which is why she demanded that the elections be suspended here, to avoid spending.

The mayor of the Valea Salciei commune has been in charge of the community since 2000, when he won the City Council in the second round, and in 2004 he fought with three opponents. The best of them got 40 votes.

In 2008 and 2012 Marian Musat was the only candidate for the Valea Salciei City Council as she is for the local since September 27, 2020, according to News.ro.

Marian Musat, who has been for years and president of the Buzau branch of the Association of Romanian Communes, said four years ago, when she faced the situation of running alone for the second time, as in communes where there is only one, elections should no longer be held , which represents a substantial saving, given that a single valid vote cast would be enough to fill the position.

In the commune of Chilii, Sorin Zaman has held the position of mayor since 2018, and in Bisoca, Florin Stemate enters the race for the second term from PSD Buzau after winning the mayoral term as an independent in 2016.

This is not the first time that PSD Buzau has awarded its mayors before Election Day. Also in 2016, two such cases were recorded in the Valea Salciei communes, where Marian Musat was elected mayor, and in the Panatau commune, where Nicolae Stoica was elected.
