The number of COVID-19 patients admitted to Intensive Care increases and reaches a new record. How many new cases have there been in the last day?

In the last 24 hours there were 755 new cases of COVID-19 out of just 6,943 tests performed. Another 43 deaths were reported due to coronavirus infection. 506 patients are admitted to intensive care.

To date, on August 31, in Romania, 87,540 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID – 19) have been confirmed.

37,869 patients were declared cured and 10,833 asymptomatic patients were discharged 10 days after detection.

Following tests conducted at the national level, compared to the last report, 755 new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (COVID – 19) were registered, cases that had not previously had a positive test.

Apart from the recently confirmed cases, after retesting the patients who were already positive, 183 people were positively reconfirmed.

To date, 3,621 people diagnosed with COVID-19 infection have died.

Between 30.08.2020 (10:00) – 31.08.2020 (10:00) there were 43 deaths (29 men and 14 women), of some patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Arad, Bacău, Bihor, Bistrița- Năsăud, Brăila, Brașov, Buzău, Dâmbovița, Dolj, Giurgiu, Ialomița, Iași, Mehedinți, Mureș, Satu Mare, Sibiu, Suceava, Timiș, Vaslui and Bucharest.

Of these, 5 deaths were recorded in the age category 50 to 59 years, 10 deaths in the age category 60 to 69 years, 18 deaths in the age category 70 to 79 years, and 10 deaths in the age group age over 80 years.

40 of the registered deaths were of patients who presented comorbidities and 3 of the deceased patients did not present comorbidities.

In specialized health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 7,447. Of these, 506 are hospitalized in ATI.

To date, 1,802,946 tests have been processed nationwide. Of these, 6,943 were performed in the last 24 hours, 4,347 based on the case definition and medical protocol, and 2,596 per request.

Likewise, since the last information made by GCS, the results of 370 tests processed before the last 24 hours and delivered until August 31 have been reported.

In Romania, 8,972 people confirmed with the new coronavirus infection are isolated in their homes and 5,847 people are in institutional isolation. In addition, 32,891 people are in home quarantine and 71 people are in institutionalized quarantine.

In the last 24 hours, 645 calls were registered to the single emergency number 112.

As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law No. 55 of 05.15.2020 on some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, in the last 24 hours, 1,278 sanctions for contravention, worth 445,300 lei.

Likewise, through the competent structures of the Police, yesterday a crime was found for frustrating the fight against diseases, a fact foreseen and sanctioned by art. 352 Penal Code.

We remind citizens that the Ministry of the Interior has put into operation, as of 04/07/2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where infractions to health protection regulations can be notified.

The calls are answered by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures for the verification of the notified matters.

Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other states, it was confirmed that 6,589 Romanian citizens were infected by COVID-19 (coronavirus): 1,898 in Italy, 1,253 in Spain, 124 in France, 2,935 in Germany, 157 in Great Britain, 28 in the Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 4 in the US, 111 in Austria, 20 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Switzerland, 3 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus, 19 in Greece , 5 in Cyprus, 2 in India and one in Argentina, Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg, United Arab Emirates, Malta, Brazil, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Sweden, Republic of the Congo, Hungary and Qatar.

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic until now, 126 Romanian citizens abroad, 31 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 11 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the United States, one in Brazil, one in the Republic of the Congo and one in Greece, have died.

Of the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus, 338 were declared cured: 308 in Germany, 18 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.
