More than half of Germans want current restrictions imposed to limit the spread of COVID-19 to be maintained, according to a survey published on Friday, dpa reports.

Those who said they wanted to continue to lift the restrictions said they were supporters of the Free Democrats (FDP) or the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD).

The survey was conducted on Tuesday and Wednesday among 1,034 people by the German institute Deutschland Trend, led by the public television station ARD, reports Agerpres.
