RT – PCR tests for the new coronavirus will be processed in a maximum of 24 hours, according to an order from the Minister of Health, published Thursday in the Official Gazette.
The Minister of Health, Nelu Tătaru, established in order the attributions in the test activity to detect the infection with the new coronavirus at the level of some units subordinate to the Ministry of Health. The National Institute of Public Health coordinates and monitors at the national level all the activity of sampling and testing for the detection of infection by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, collects all the data on the test results, being the only authorized institution to report official data to the Ministry of Health and other authorities. national and international, according to the document published Thursday in the Official Gazette.
The county / Bucharest public health directorates organize the collection and transportation of samples taken from health units or other locations and their analysis by specialized units that perform RT-PCR tests to establish the diagnosis of severe acute respiratory syndrome caused by the new coronavirus, according to its maximum test capacity and the number of samples pending, is shown in the order of the Minister of Health.
The DSPs will go as a priority to the closest specialized unit that performs the RT-PCR test, which they contact quickly to send the samples. If that unit does not have testing capacity, public health departments will contact the INSP immediately to be redirected to another specialized unit included in the program, so that all samples taken can be processed within 24 hours. in order.
At the same time, public health departments are obliged to verify daily the reports made on the alerte.ms.ro platform and inform the INSP of the number of samples distributed to specialized units for processing, as well as the units in question and any problem identified.
