Several deaths were not reported on Friday due to the system change, the Strategic Communication Group announced, raising the number of Covid-19 deaths to 923 in Romania.
Therefore, after verifications from the national database, another 25 deaths were recorded due to Covid-19. The last victims were between 32 and 84 years old, confirmed with other ailments. Most of the patients were from Suceava. On Friday, a total of 35 new deaths were reported in the country.
On Friday, 312 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Romania. Thus, the total balance of infections reached 14,811 people. As of Friday, 6,423 patients had been declared cured and discharged. On the other hand, 232 people remain hospitalized in intensive care units.

In the last 24 hours, 871 people who did not comply with the traffic restriction measure were fined, since the Constitutional Court ruled that the Ordinance that was the basis for increasing sanctions is not constitutional. The value of the fines of the last day is almost 1 million lei. Furthermore, since the establishment of the state of emergency, 541 criminal cases have been opened to thwart the fight against disease.
To date, 2,444 Romanian citizens in the diaspora have been confirmed with COVID-19. Most of the cases are in Italy, where 1,387 Romanians have been infected. At the same time, 96 Romanians abroad died from a coronavirus infection.
